Daily Dose: Photo 24

Upper Ho'opi'i Falls is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, but still an accessible trek to make. There are also lower falls if you follow the stream... lower. :)

Daily Dose: Photo 21

Another photo from the Kalalau Trail - this stream is fed by Hanakāpīʻai Falls. The water is "so fresh and so clean, clean". Literally. The stream ends by flowing into the ocean at Hanakāpīʻai Beach, an extremely dangerous spot on the Na Pali coast (which I somehow decided to get into and then Mother Nature taught me my lesson) with a high death toll.

Personal | Mom & Daughter: Kayla + Caroline

Sweet Caroline was on the blog not too long ago. It probably won't be the last time either because I just love to photograph this little girl. It's nicest to shoot friends, like Kayla, because not only is she gaw-jus (!), but it's amazingly touching to see her in her new role as mama. :)

Daily Dose: Photo 19

I know, I know. I'm posting a photo of a blob in the ocean. But that which looks really uninteresting to you is actually a stingray that we spotted from the Kalalau Trail, and therefore, is extremely interesting to me.

Daily Dose: Photo 18

Probably one of my very favorite experiences on Kaua'i: the Blue Room wet cave. Easily accessible and still spectacular. It was some of the coldest water I have ever been in and I thought we might encounter creatures hanging from the ceiling (a la "The Descent") when we swam into the darkness of the back of the cave, but 110% worth it.

(Please forgive my hubby being completely washed out; all I cared about was doing what I could to make that blue, blue water show up)

Daily Dose: Photos 16 & 17

I started yet another new semester at UH this morning, and although the first day is always a breeze, I'm beat. But I'd rather be beat than feel like a deadbeat. :) Ohhh, I make myself laugh.

On to a daily double dose of Kaua'i...

This is Queen's Bath, which was conveniently located down the street from my FIL's timeshare. Sitting in a bath being fed by the ocean? Yes, please. We watched a couple sunsets here (although Princeville decided to be socked in with clouds most days).

Oh, hey there honu! No matter how many sea turtles I've seen, I still think each spotting is absolutely magical.

Military Photographer | Stacie + Cole

Cute, down-to-earth, and entertaining. Stacie and Cole were such a fun couple to photograph. We spent a relaxing sunset shoot at Hickam wetlands with their 2 adorable dogs. All I tried to do was capture their magic. :)

Tree tunnel. Be good at dodging cars if you're going to attempt to stand in the middle of the street for this photo.

As soon as I walked behind Jojo's Shave Ice in Waimea, this recreational pier caught my eye. Tell me those clean lines don't make your eyes dance!

Modest little waterfall you may almost miss on the side of Waimea Canyon Drive (although, if you do see it, my father-in-law probably won't be in the background :) ).

Daily Dose: Photo 12

There is nothing special about this photo, except for the chuckle I get from it. Oahu has its displaced chickens, particularly along the North Shore, but Kaua'i... they're everywhere. Including the lookouts in Waimea Canyon. Everywhere we went, we'd see them and crack up. Here's to the official bird of Kaua'i.

Kilauea Lighthouse, besides being a great scenic lookout, is a bird sanctuary.

I love tall foliage you can hide in, hidden away from the hussle and bussle. The land feels so raw. This was the path to Kipu Falls, in an earlier post.

Daily Dose: Photos 6 & 7

Missed my Friday the 13th post. Subconsciously or not? Who knows. Really, though, the time just got away from me. :)

Kayaking is one of the many activities done on the Wailua River.

Kipu Falls, a hidden gem where the locals can be found.

The Wailua River begins near Wai'ale'ale Crater and ends by entering the Pacific Ocean.

Daily Dose: Photo 1

I have returned from an 8-day trip to the spectacular Hawaiian island of Kaua'i. Looking through the hundreds of pictures taken during that time, there are a good number that are special in thinking fondly of our adventures there. Here begins a photo-a-day for memories sake. A daily dose of paradise. :)

It started at 5:30AM, on the half hour plane flight from Oahu, with the sun making it's way through the clouds...
