Every time December 7 rolls around, I get very excited. I know this sounds backwards, but I promise you it's not as weird as it sounds. The attack on Pearl Harbor is an event in history that is most fascinating to me and which I probably know most about. Like most when they visit, I get an indescribable feeling when I step onto the memorials, even if the number of my visits has climbed into the high double digits. I love that 69 years later, there is still a gathering to pay respects to the fallen. It is incredible to see the survivors, and even moreso to hear the stories from their lips. Unfortunately, I arrived to the USS Arizona Memorial late in the morning, after the ceremonies had taken place. I did photograph those still visiting and the newest elements of the visitor center.

Personal | Thanksgiving Weekend
The busy holiday season is upon us, and we're already getting ready for some Christmas fun around my house! Of course there is no skipping Thanksgiving, so I'm sending you all happy wishes and thanks for supporting AndArms Photography. I hope your holiday weekend is warm with aloha. We are off to a Thanksgiving adventure on the Big Island!

Personal | Serenity
I was looking back through my winter photos from 2009, and stumbled upon a few that were taken on the H3. This photo brings so much peace to my mind. It makes me feel like snuggling under a blanket and watching the fog float by.
What about you?

Military Photographer | Jen + Josh
Jen and Josh came to the shoot with a lot of ideas, which was fun and unique. We took advantage of Ko Olina's beautiful grounds at sunset.

Personal | October Happenings
I love coming up the walkway to this curious face.
Halloween anyone? We love this holiday. But so much to do before a party!
I am pretty sure Lewis' favorite person in the world is daddy. Sometimes mommy gets jealous. :(
This face makes me smile daily.
NO, we did not let him drink beer. But he was awfully curious to smell it. Do you like his Princess Leia ear buns? :) That would make a great costume!
I love the fall months.

Personal | AndArms has a new...
Logo! What do you think? I had a problem recently with the previous logo designer redistributing the same design to others, so I finally took it into my own hands and created what you see here now. Most people aren't sure what to make of it when they look at it. But, there is a method to my madness: what looks like a letter M is actually my spin on the silhouette of a shaka hand sign. I love to throw the shaka as a sign of aloha, the love and welcome I hope to spread to my clients. :)

Personal | September Full Moon
Gorgeous.
Not sure whether the very small sphere (bottom right) was a planet, star, or just a satellite.

Daily Dose: Photo 53
The daily dose of Kaua'i ends with my last sign of light on the island, the sunset at Waimea Canyon. From there we drove to the airport and returned to Oahu. Not a day goes by that I don't think about our first, amaaaazing trip there. We just cannot wait to go back. Mahalo to those of you that followed along on our daily photo adventure! Aloha friends. :)

Daily Dose: Photo 49
The night we left, we got our last BANG! out of Kaua'i with a much anticipated sunset at Waimea Canyon. Holy toledo, I know. It's just a photo, but it still makes you squint huh? Hands down, THE best sunset I've ever ever ever seen. And because of that, the last few photos and final end to Kaua'i daily photos will be photos from this sunset.

Personal | Heaven
Our latest trip up to Heaven made it feel like a whole new experience. Heavy cloud cover led us to believe our friends wouldn't see any views on their first trip up, but we got a few breaks in the clouds once the sun started peeking through.
But afterall, it was just another blessed day in Hawai'i. :)

Daily Dose: Photo 47
Polihale Beach on Barking Sands side of Kaua'i. Possibly one of the farthest drives to a beach I've gone on the islands.
