Zhalika and Ben were a pleasure to photograph. After rain threatened our first shoot, we picked up where we left off at another location. These two are naturally great in front of the camera, keeping with their affection towards each other off camera. They had me laughing throughout their session and I definitely hope to work with them again!

After a long struggle with moving domain hosts, a revamped website went up. Still simple, clean, and to the point, but with more organization! While uploading images for the site, I realized I am hungryhungryhungry to shoot like a madwoman. Unfortunately, I feel like I have zero time while I try to push through the home stretch of my last semester of school. Oh, summer, how I cannot wait for thee!

Personal | Nighttime Adventures

While another busy month continues, thought I'd leave readers with 2 photos from my latest nighttime adventures on Oahu's east side. Since gazing at Big Island's spectacular sky, I've been much more aware of the stars and seeing the world in the dark, in general. What wonderful creation.

Military Photographer | Cari + Russell: Vow Renewal

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Cari and Russell's vow renewal at the beginning of this month at Sea Breeze on Hickam AFB. I loved everything about their ceremony because I loved everything about them. Both of them seemed so relaxed, but anxious to see one another. :) So much love was present, from bride and groom, to family and friends. I look forward to working with them in the future, and in the meantime, they will be keeping their marriage strong as Russell deploys. Thanks again for letting me be a part of your renewal ceremony, Cari and Russ!

At the end of the night, they asked if it would be alright to do a jumping shot. Are you kidding me?!? Heck yes! Bring it!

Personal | Bring it 2011!

Since I have been unable to log in to Blogger for a few days, I'm finally getting to post our fun new contest to ring in the new creative year! This contest is to win an underwater photoshoot, something I have dreamed of doing since admiring Marina Miller's underwater work. Personal | December 7, 69 years later

Every time December 7 rolls around, I get very excited. I know this sounds backwards, but I promise you it's not as weird as it sounds. The attack on Pearl Harbor is an event in history that is most fascinating to me and which I probably know most about. Like most when they visit, I get an indescribable feeling when I step onto the memorials, even if the number of my visits has climbed into the high double digits. I love that 69 years later, there is still a gathering to pay respects to the fallen. It is incredible to see the survivors, and even moreso to hear the stories from their lips. Unfortunately, I arrived to the USS Arizona Memorial late in the morning, after the ceremonies had taken place. I did photograph those still visiting and the newest elements of the visitor center.

Personal | Thanksgiving Weekend

The busy holiday season is upon us, and we're already getting ready for some Christmas fun around my house! Of course there is no skipping Thanksgiving, so I'm sending you all happy wishes and thanks for supporting AndArms Photography. I hope your holiday weekend is warm with aloha.
